Since my start at Thornlea on February 3, 2025, I have had the pleasure of meeting kind, warm, and passionate students, parents, and staff. The Thornlea community is close-knit, supportive, and invested in academics, athletics, arts, culture, technologies, and social justice. Thornlea is a hub and epicenter where cultures, causes, and identities intersect and converge in the heart of York Region. We are very busy engaging students both in and out of the classroom. Our programming includes ACAM, AP, Co-operative Learning, French Immersion, SHSM, STEM, athletics, and a wide array of clubs.
Thornlea has a rich and long history dating back to 1968. Throughout its progression, Thornlea has always remained a caring and compassionate place. As we continue to modernize, we will also continue to question, nurture, and innovate. Our building on Bayview Avenue is a well known and enduring landmark. Our spirit and outlook are youthful, optimistic, and ambitious.
We always look forward to welcoming future generations and building on our strengths and successes.
