Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interviews Thursday, March 26

Parent/Guardian-Teacher Interviews will be on Thursday, March 26. You will have an opportunity to meet with your child(ren)’s teacher(s) in person, and learn more about their course(s). Parents/Guardians can use TeachAssist, an online platform, to schedule a meeting time with their children’s teacher(s) on this night. All students in our school currently have a TeachAssist account to access information associated with their class assessments. 

Parents/guardians may access appointment bookings on Monday, March 23 through the TeachAssist Parent Portal available at https://ta.yrdsb.ca/parents. From there, enter your email address and leave the password blank to either set up a one-time access link or to reset a password that you've created. An email will be sent with a time limited link that will look similar to this:

Once logged in, parents/guardians will have the option to set up a password. 

If you have any questions about this process, please contact our main office. 

If you have any challenges with meeting in-person on Thursday, March 26th, please contact your child(ren)’s teacher(s) to make alternative contact arrangements.

Important Message for 2026 Graduates

Our graduation will take place on Wednesday, June 24 at Hazelton Manor (99 Peelar Road, Vaughan). 

The graduation fee is $85 and can be paid on SchoolCash Online

The fee includes venue, cap and gown souvenir package to keep, and two guest tickets (graduate does not require a ticket).  

Additional guest tickets are not available at this time.  Further communication regarding additional guests will be shared later this spring. 

The fee deadline is Tuesday, March 31. 

 

 

Speak Real For Youth Mental Health Community Talk for Parents and Caregivers

Join YRDSB for an evening dedicated to building emotional connections and supporting student well-being. This panel discussion, “How to Support Youth and Conversations about Mental Health at Home,” features youth with lived experience from YouthSpeak Charity , Clinical Psychologist Dr. Wendy Manel (CMHA), and YRDSB Mental Health Lead Patricia Marra-Stapleton.

Event Details

When: April 16, 2026 | 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM (Registration starts at 6:00 PM)

Where: Westmount Collegiate Institute (1000 New Westminster Dr., Thornhill)

Who: All YRDSB elementary and secondary parents and caregivers

Registration & Accessibility:  Register through the Monthly Parent/Caregiver Mental Health Newsletter, the YRDSB Events Page, or your school’s Mental Health Liaison. Interpretation services will be available in select languages (details on the registration form).

 

York Region District School Board, in partnership with York University, presents: Y2 LEGACY – A Black-Centred Approach to Leadership, Innovation, and Excellence

Y2 LEGACY is a transformative summer learning program that empowers students through a Black-centred lens celebrating leadership, innovation, and academic excellence. By building foundational knowledge and identity-affirming skills, students emerge with the confidence and capabilities to lead in their schools and communities. The foundational skills students gain in the summer will support them in navigating the school year with confidence and leadership.

The program enables students to:

  • Gain skills for a future driven by innovation, leadership, and adaptability
  • Learn in an affirming, identity-centred environment that celebrates Black excellence
  • Build a multi-year learning pathway that supports academic and career achievement
  • Earn secondary credits while exploring post-secondary options
  • Access mentorship, Black community partnerships, and university-level experiences
  • Become eligible for a Schulich Certificate and Fall York University course 

Registration

Participation in Y2 LEGACY is competitive, and space is limited. To be considered for enrollment, interested students must complete the following two steps:

  1. All students must complete a Y2 LEGACY Google Application Form that will be available on March 24, 2026 on the Y2 LEGACY page.
  2. Students currently attending a YRDSB day school must register for their selected course using My Pathway Planner (myBlueprint).

Y2 LEGACY summer school runs Tuesday, June 30 to Friday, July 24, 2026, from 8:45 AM - 3:32 PM.  Please see our flyer and Y2 LEGACY page for more information.
