Encore 2026 - Spring Concert
On Wednesday May 20th, Thornlea Music will hold its spring concert, Encore 2026, in the Thornlea Gymnasium. This concert features all our school's current ensembles, including the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Period 2 Junior Class, Period 3 Senior Class, and a number of soloists and small ensembles. Tickets are available on School Cash Online, or by cash payment at the door: $10 for adults and $5 for students/children under 12. Doors open at 6:30 PM, and the concert will begin at 7 PM. We hope to see you there to help us celebrate another successful year in Thornlea Music!
Yearbook 2025-2026
Photo day portraits will appear in the yearbook UNLESS the parent/18+ student contacts the principal in writing by Friday, May 29, 2026. Current preferred names in our school database will be published in the yearbook.

2026 Graduation Ceremony
On June 1st, in period 2, all grade 12 graduating students must attend a graduation assembly in the cafeteria. Students will receive their gown, two guest tickets, and information regarding the ceremony. On June 2, a letter will be sent to families with details regarding graduation, including how to purchase additional guest tickets. The ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 24th at 7 PM.
York Region Presidents’ Council Elections for 2026-2027 School Year
Students can express their interest in a YRPC position by completing a nomination form by 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, 2026. All current Grades 9-11 students (future Grade 10-12 students) will receive an email on Friday, May 22, with information about the candidates and instructions on voting. Elections will occur between Friday, May 29 and Tuesday, June 2 until 6:00 p.m. Results will be announced on Tuesday, June 9.
