Welcome to the Geography Department at
Thornlea Secondary School
What is where? Why there? Why care? and What to do?
At Thornlea Secondary School, our Geography Department is dedicated to fostering a deep understanding of the world around us. We believe that geography is more than just the study of maps but rather, it is about understanding the connections between people, places, and enviornemnts. Our geography courses are designed to help students develop critical thinking skills, explore global issues, and gain a greater appreciation for the diverse and interconnected world in which we live.
Studying geography at Thornlea Secondary School prepares students to think critically about the world and their place in it. Our geography courses encourage students to become informed global citizens, who are ready to tackle the complex challenges of the future.
Once students earn their grade 9 (CGC1W or CGC1WF) credit, they are eligible to take grade 11 and 12 courses.
